Today, everyone wants to protect their future as life is full of uncertainties. Most people want to get settled in their life by having a steady flow of income and growth at regular intervals of time. Though the mushrooming  private sector has opened up new prospects of a bright future for today’s youth, job insecurity still hangs 24x7. Due to this, we have to work hard as we all know that private firms demand long working hours.  At certain point of life, many of us start acknowledging this realm of life and get going with the same job in private sector. 
But there are many people who act smart and opt for government jobs. It has never been a secret that government jobs have fixed working hours and moreover plenty of facilities and flexibility offered to its employees. Being the world’s seventh largest country, India comprises of 29 states, which jointly offers plethora of government jobs. Every year, different civil service examinations is conducted. Of all these exams, some are held at state level whereas some at national level. In state level service exams, MPSC exam is one of the premier civil services exams in India.
MPSC stands for Maharashtra Public Service Commission. Formed by the Constitution of India, MPSC is a body that selects candidates for civil service jobs in the State of Maharashtra. Every year, the Government of Maharashtra conducts MPSC exam through which it selects eligible candidates for jobs under its various departments like Administration, Police, Forest and Engineering. 
Annually, MPSC conducts about 15 examinations for Class I,II and III  officiers in various government services. 

MPSC Exams 2016

MPSC Sales Tax Inspector / Assistant Preliminary Examination 

This exam is conducted for recruitment of sales tax inspector and assistant in Maharashtra sales tax department. 
Eligibility:-
Age Limit:- 19-33 years (relaxations as per Government rules). 
Qualification:-
• Graduation or its equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
• Knowledge of Marathi is essential.

MPSC PSI  Preliminary Examination

This exam is conducted for recruitment of Police Sub Inspectors for the state's police force. 
Eligibility:-
Age Limit: - 19-28 years (relaxations as per government rules).
Qualification:-
• Graduation or its equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
• Knowledge of Marathi is essential.
Physical Standard:-
For Male:-
Height: - 165 cms (minimum)
Chest:-
Unexpanded: - 79 cms
Expanded: - 84 cms
For Female:-
Height: - 157 cms (minimum)
MPSC Clerk / Typist 

This exam is conducted for recruitment of clerk and typists (English and Marathi) for various departments of the Government of Maharashtra. 
Eligibility:-
Age Limit: - 18-33 years (relaxation as per govt rules.)
Educational qualification: - Minimum SSC pass.
Typing Speed:-
• For Clerk / Typist (Marathi) - 30 wpm
• For Clerk / Typist (English) - 40 wpm.

MPSC Syllabus
Syllabus for Preliminary Exam: - The preliminary exam consists of four papers i.e. General Knowledge, General English, General Marathi and General Studies. 
Candidates who pass the prelim exam qualify for the main exam. In main exam, there will be six papers; two languages papers (English & Marathi) and four papers in General Studies. The four papers are given below:-
•History & Geography (with reference to Maharashtra)
•Indian Constitution & Politics
•Human Resource Development and Human Rights
•Economy & Planning, Economics of Development & Agriculture and Science & Technology Development
